Restaurants Are Warned to Upgrade to UL 300 Standards

Years ago when restaurants began upgrading to new, high-efficiency burners that resulted in higher heating rates of cooking oils, it became apparent that new standards for fire systems were warranted. Underwriters Laboratories created those stricter standards in November 1994. Unfortunately, many restaurants today still have not upgraded their systems. These requirements were a welcome addition to fire systems companies because it increased safety in commercial kitchens.

New fryers are so well-insulated these days, that it slows the cooling rate of cooking oils below their auto-ignition point. It was discovered that the kitchen fire systems prior to UL 300 systems weren't effective at putting out fires caused by these fryers. What was worse was that traditional dry chemical systems performed much worse than the newer liquid suppression systems. UL addressed this deficiency by creating UL 300, which created a new standard for testing that mandates tougher and more realistic fire tests for ranges, fryers, griddles, newly added woks and certain types of broilers. Companies that made kitchen fire suppression systems subsequently redesigned and re-tested their systems to ensure they complied with UL 300. Under the new testing standards, no dry chemical systems have been able to pass the test.

Only wet chemical systems with greater flow rates, more flow points and more agent capacity have met UL 300 tests to date. Besides the fact that it's the law, there are several other reasons restaurants should upgrade their systems. UL 300 systems discharge only onto protected equipment, which means there is no "fallout" throughout the restaurant. This results in cost savings for cleanup in the event the system is used. Manufacturers no longer make dry chemical systems for restaurants, which means replacement parts are unavailable. An increasing number of fire equipment distributors will not service dry systems in restaurants because they fear they could be held liable if the old, outdated systems failed.

Since manufacturers no longer make the systems, they also no longer support them. Restaurant business depends on keeping the doors open and when the kitchen isn't operational, that results in lost revenue. Most restaurants don't have the luxury of being able to shut down for days or weeks for cleanup and repair in the event of a fire. That's all the more reason to upgrade these systems. Some people feel as though they can't afford to do it, so they put it off. But they can't afford to put this off, either.

Unleashing Your Potential

Every single one of us is born with potential. It may not be the same potential (we can't all be artists or singers), but we all have our own unique gift or value proposition that is waiting to be found and nurtured.

Are you one of those people they said had potential? Were you the college football star, the math genius or the leading lady in the school production? Are folks wondering 10 years later what happened to you? Why you didn't make it, with all that talent? How many people do you know l ike that, people who had great potential but are still keeping it on a tight leash today waiting for "who knows what"? Perhaps you are one of them. If you are, I highly encourage you to rethink your reasons for doing so and start living out your potential.

You may be asking yourself then, where and how do I start? The first step is to find out Why you are holding on to your potential so tightly. Ask yourself, What is holding you back from your greatness? Remember, we ALL have potential. Not just a few of us. One of the biggest reasons that people hold back is because of FEAR.Fear of being successful, fear of failing, fear of the unknown, fear of having to keep up the good work. Does this sound like you? If so, you just brought light and consciousness to something that has been hidden for a long time. Good Start!!!

Now, in order to unleash your greatness, you will need to clean house and make room for your expansion program. You see, what you focus on, expands. Starting today, you are going to focus on your greatness and that is going to take up a lot of room, so let's get started.

You are going to need to shed your self- limiting beliefs,, commitments to actions that no longer serve you, face truths that may be unpleasant and get rid of fears that no longer work. DO NOT let this scare you. You do not have to do this by yourself. Consider hiring a Life coach. Having a good Life Coach in your corner can give you the courage and the support you need to take these actions now and insure your success.

Once the clutter is gone, you now have room to unleash that great big whirlwind of potential that is YOURS. Nurture it, revel in it and most of all, use it! However, there is one caveat, and that is the price you will need pay for your happiness. This has nothing to do with money and is small change for what you get in return- the opportunity of walking into your greatness. Curious? Well the price of greatness is being willing to take risks, to express yourself, to take a chance at failing, to go through uncomfortable circumstances - and that's the thing most people aren't willing to do. You cannot by- pass the process. You can however think of exchanging one negative for a whole lot of positives.

When you start living up to your potential and unleash your greatness, you will feel settled, secure and more confident then you ever have before in your life.Everything will just seem to 'fit' and you will feel like you finally found your way home.

Tips To Detoxify Your Body

Toxins are everywhere. They are in the foods that we eat and the air that we breathe. Unfortunately, the human body is exposed continuously to chemicals that can and will limit the efficiency of our bodies over time.

If you want to reduce the effects of these toxins, you need to help your body eliminate those stored toxins. Here are a few tips for starting a detoxification program:

- Exercise to aid detoxification - When you are trying to detoxify your body, it's much more effective to do so when you turn fat into muscle through exercise. Additionally, exercise will help to stimulate digestion and give you an overall feeling of well-being. An exercise routine doesn't have to be strenuous or time consuming. Even going for two or three 15 minute walks a day can have a significant impact.

- Don't take diet pills - While it may seem like losing a few pounds with the assistance of diet pills might be a good idea, it is not. For one thing, most people who lose weight with the assistance of diet pills will regain the weight plus a few pounds. For another, these pills contain stimulants that slow digestion and increase the toxins being stored within the body.

- Be prepared for headaches if you eliminate stimulants - One of the ways to begin detoxifying your body is to reduce or eliminate the amount of stimulants you ingest. The biggest culprit of which is caffeine. However, headaches are a side effect of this elimination and are very common. Although they can be bothersome, they will not last forever. Drinking extra water to flush out other toxins will help to eliminate withdrawal headaches.

- Detoxify your liver to revitalize your body - If your body is wrought with toxins and harmful chemicals, there is a good chance that your liver is the organ feeling the negative effects the most. It's important to ensure that your liver is functioning to its highest ability so that it can assist in the natural detoxification of your body. If you are going to detoxify your liver, do it carefully and be sure to double your water intake during and after the process to help flush out the toxins.

- Be prepared for the 'healing crisis' - When you are detoxifying your body, there will be a sudden release of toxins into your blood stream and digestive system. This release is the best way for your body to eliminate them once and for all, however when it happens you may begin to feel as though you have a horrible case of the flu. You can experience symptoms that range from allergic reactions such as rashes, sneezing or a runny nose. Or, you may feel nauseated and exhausted. Be aware that these are normal symptoms that are signs that your body is in fact releasing all of those toxins that took years to build up in your system. The best thing that you can do is to continue the process, and eventually the healing crisis will subside and go away completely.

Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither were the stores of toxins within your body. Be patient and know that it will take some time to eliminate the toxins that have been building up for years. Using these tips, you can help your body to effectively remove toxic substances that are keeping you from feeling your best.

Free Marriage Records Search - The Myth of the Free Marriage Records Search

Do you need to do a marriage records search? Searching marriage records is fairly common these days, and providing access to those records is a mandatory public service of the states. So that means you can do a free marriage records search, right?

Not exactly. First, you need to realize that access to records of marriages is governed by laws that vary from state to state. This means that the procedures, availability, and costs vary wildly from state to state. For example, as of this writing, in California the amount of time required to return a copy of a marriage certificate or other vital record is longer than six months!

Most states also put limits on who can have access to copies of marriage records. The particulars vary from state to state, but you must almost always meet state-specified requirements before you will be allowed access to the records. Even if you can meet their requirements, that's still more time and effort you have to put into each records search you do.

Even if you're willing to wait for the state to provide copies of the records, and you meet their requirements for access to the records, I'm afraid you will be sadly disappointed if you are hoping to do a free marriage records search. Every state charges fees for providing marriage records.

The records themselves may technically be free, but there are administrative costs that the state will pass on to you. Again, these costs vary from state to state. And with the economy as bad as it is, and every state starving for more revenue, you can bet those fees will be going up.

Given the way the number of people doing these records searches is increasing, and the difficulty of getting the records from the states, you shouldn't be surprised to learn that there are now companies that can get the information for you. Even better, they can do it almost instantly, without all the requirements and delays of dealing directly with state agencies.

Marriage records search firms pay the states to get access to their records. They combine all the information from all the states into a giant computer database, and make it easy to search the combined records right from your computer. Enter a few pieces of information about the marriage, and in seconds you can have all the details. Without all the hassles and delays.

Just like dealing with the individual states, you will have to pay a fee to get your information. But with the right marriage records search firm, you'll pay a single low fee and have the information you need right away, without all the hassles of going directly to the state.

The Toll-Free Conference Call: Mechanics and Types

The toll-free conference call has become an indispensable tool in the world of business. Instead of having everyone over for a meeting in person-something which may not always be possible for busy executives-the audio conference option allows for greater flexibility and attendance without the hassle.

Certain companies usually provide the service using equipment known as a conference bridge. This tool links telephone lines, making the audio conferencing possible. Participants usually dial a special telephone number that connects to this bridge in order to participate in the ongoing conversation.

There are different types of conference calls, each with different setups. The reservationless toll-free conference call involves a number and different access codes for different participants. It's relatively straightforward-people dial the number, key in their access codes, and participate in the meeting.

Other calls may be operator-assisted. The operator dials each participant's number at a certain appointed time, manually adds them to the conference and stays around to help in case any unforeseen difficulties come up. This usually costs more than the non-assisted option, but useful for people who are new to the medium.

Some conference calls aren't really "calls" because they use an entirely different medium-the Internet. Online web conferences allow for the sharing of documents, videos and pictures among themselves and communicate their message through speaking or typing.

Thankfully, select toll-free conference call companies now offer a service that comes with the benefits of these different types. These providers present a system that requires no reservations, allows data-sharing, and promotes fast and hassle-free communication.

The Apartment Manager (Working at Home)

The benefits of working at home as an apartment manager are extraordinary.

First, if you're a single parent, like I am, then you are always there for your children when and if they need you.

Second, you don't commute. You save money on gas, wear and tear on your vehicle, cut down on pollution, and the more your vehicle sits in the carport the more you start thinking about reducing costly insurance premiums.

But also, there is less wear and tear on you.

You're not frustrated or frightened in traffic.

You're not under pressure because you have to be somewhere at a certain time.

That's not to say there aren't problems working at home.

There are.

Being an apartment manager is an on going adventure.

But, I feel blessed to have this job on many levels.

Am I getting rich?

No, I'm lucky if I break even each month.

But the life style is priceless.

I go to work when I'm ready (after I've made breakfast and lunches for my daughters and they are off to school) I start clipping, mowing, painting, repairing etc. around the apartments. If one of my daughters gets sick I'm here to nurse her through it. If they need a ride to a game, or want to have a friend spend the evening, I'm here.

If I get tired I take a break. If I don't feel like working one day, or if I'm all caught up, I take a day off. It doesn't matter which day of the week. Or I can work on any day I like, holidays included. In a word, I'm free. Or as I say to everyone, "I'm always on, and I'm always off."

And I think that's good for me in mind, body and spirit.

If you think you might be interested in becoming an apartment manager, Google: apartment manager jobs.

Mind Mapping and Its Benefits in Business and Education

Are you the type of person who finds it easy to interpret your thoughts using doodles? Perhaps you are the type of person who enjoys a flow chart or prefers using the various applications of the discernible computer to capture your ideas!

However, besides all the above methods to structure your thoughts, there is another method which has been getting the 'thumbs-up' from various thinkers and the intelligentsia in general. This revolutionizing method is called Mind Mapping. As the name suggests, it is a tool to map the thoughts, ideas, and processes related to different subjects in your mind. Some experts have even suggested that mind mapping tool is the key to unlocking your genius! So if you are all attention now, then let's explore this intriguing way to opening your mind's realms to achieve greater success.

The mind mapping technique was invented by Tony Buzan in the 1970s. The tool is a graphical representation that reflects the way your brain works; besides this the main subjects of your thoughts gain center stage and the themes radiate out from this as branches and sub branches.

Each branch is a key image or has a key word which is printed on the branched line. You can add the details to the main branches (read ideas) and radiate these further out. Many people use lined paper and staid black or blue colored inks for mind mapping. This looks very boring. In order to make your motes more attractive and thus stimulate your brain, try using colored inks, music and charge your imagination further. Suddenly, recording your thoughts and taking notes will be more exciting and fun.

You may have observed that information on mind mapping, mind mapping tool and mind mapping software is easily available and ready for use as you require. This method has a variety of uses such as taking notes, making notes, problem solving, courseware design etc. Mind mapping is especially worthwhile for professionals in the education sector such as professors, teachers, and research students. Mind mapping tool is an invaluable value-addition for people who deal with large amounts of detailed data on a regular basis.

The beauty of mind mapping technique is that it combined the thinking of both left and right brain. Translated into simple English this means that you will be able to remember information better and your brain shall also find recording and processing information faster, thus increasing your recall rate.

Actually, mind map is just a simple map details the information you know about a given subject. If you own an online business or if you are in the teaching profession, then a manually drawn mind map or a mind map tool provide you the expertise to make an inventory of what you know and what you need to know about a particular subject at a particular moment in time.

A key benefit of mind map software is that it helps you organize information in a hierarchical manner; this is not possible with lists. The tree like structure helps you get a better grasp about the information being dealt with and thus helps you organize your thoughts and capture the details.

Since our memory is works on the basis of association with various factors, a single idea has the potential of being linked to your mind in a multitude of ways. What mind mapping really does, and rather effectively, is to allow associations and links to be created, recorded, and thereby strengthened.

Multiple Myeloma, a Blood Plasma Cancer, and the Arkansas Treatment

Within the last 20 years, the Arkansas Treatment has been developed for patients suffering from Multiple Myeloma. An acquaintance of the author's, who was treated with this chemotherapy regimen several years before his own diagnosis, had to travel to Arkansas to receive the treatment. After being diagnosed in June, 2008 with multiple myeloma, the author was able to receive this chemotherapy regimen locally near his home in the Upstate of South Carolina.

This treatment uses several different drugs during chemotherapy, followed by an autologous stem cell transplant. The full treatment actually calls for a tandem stem cell transplant (two in succession.) Whereas years ago, the only treatment for multiple myeloma was the drug that directly targets the cancerous cells (and then also targets lots of good cells as well), the several drugs used in this treatment all target the abilities of the cancerous cells to reproduce and encourage the body's normal disease fighting cells to eliminate them.

This treatment uses thalidomide as the main, cancer-fighting, oral drug, plus a cocktail of chemotherapy drugs which include bortezomib, cyclophosphamide, etoposide, cisplatin, doxorubicin, and dexamethasone. A variety of other drugs such as antibiotics, to help the body's impaired immune system, anti-nausea drugs, and pain killers (steroids) are administered concurrently.

With the older treatments directly targeting the cancerous cells, the life expectancies of multiple myeloma patients were on the order of two to four years following diagnosis. Since those drugs adversely affected many good body cells as well as the cancerous cells, the patients' bodies took a major hit every time the drug was administered. A high dose of that same drug (or similar ones) is part of the stem cell transplant procedure. Following the administration of the high dose drug, the author's white blood cell count was near zero. Fortunately, the stem cell transplant immediately followed the administration of the high dose, so his body was able to recover from the high dose by creating new stem cells and new good blood cells.

Newer treatments such as the Arkansas Treatment use drugs that target the cancerous cells indirectly. They attempt to turn OFF the ON switch that tells the cancerous cells to reproduce ad infinitum. They attempt to block blood supplies which allow the cancerous cells to flourish. They attempt to block signals sent from the cancerous cells to normal body disease-fighting cells that says, in effect, "I am a normal cell -- leave me alone." They attempt to encourage the body's disease-fighting cells to go after those cancerous cells and do their jobs -- that is, to eliminate them as unwanted cells in the body. Obviously, this is a layman's explanation of the tasks requested of the drugs in this treatment regimen, but you get the idea.

Since these drugs are not directly expected to kill the cancerous cells, they are much less harmful to the good cells of the body. This does not mean they are harmless to normal body cells. They still are quite potent chemicals that should not be used lightly. But they appear to each work well to perform the jobs requested of them. Life expectancies of patients receiving the Arkansas treatment are listed as ten plus years, and climbing.

Major side effects occur with this treatment regimen, but they appear to be worth the inconveniences. In the author's case, the two major side effects are deterioration of the heart muscle, and peripheral neuropathy. The author's heart efficiency deteriorated sufficiently over the course of treatment that he was prevented from receiving the second stem cell transplant. Having read lots of information on the internet prior to and during treatments, he somehow missed the possibility that the chemo drugs could adversely affect the heart muscle. The efficiency of his left ventricle went from normal values above 50% all the way down to 26%. At this low level, he was treated for congestive heart failure. The cardiologist said, however, that in many cases, the heart can recover from chemo-induced levels like this. This, in fact, has happened in the author's case. His heart's efficiency has risen once again to near-normal levels.

After the heart's efficiency problems were diagnosed, the author searched for and found several articles that did indeed warn that some of the chemo drugs used in this regimen can adversely affect the heart muscle. One of the drugs, in particular, was listed as prone to causing heart problems. When he asked one of the chemo nurses which of the medications could adversely affect the heart, she answered, "Oh, they probably all do."

The peripheral neuropathy is a major nuisance, but it does not appear to be a life-threatening problem. The author's fingers and toes all tingle and feel somewhat numb most of the time. The cancer drugs, and even the cancer maintenance drugs, appeared to cause these problems. After the main cancer medications were stopped, the tingling and numbness receded a little, but not completely. There were days following the chemo treatments when the author's hands hurt -- especially when holding or touching cold items. Today, they are tingly but that sensation can be ignored most of the time.

The author's body is currently "as clean of the cancerous cells as possible," according to his oncologist. This doctor also commented during that visit that many don't appreciate the gravity of that statement. "Years ago, half of the people who contracted multiple myeloma died within 3 years of diagnosis." Those numbers are greatly extended now due to chemo regimens like the Arkansas Treatment.

Martial Arts: The Number One Way to Combat Bullying

As parents, we do everything we can to protect our children from harm and to provide them with the skills they need to be healthy, successful adults. The problem is, we are not with them all the time. What our kids do at school is sometimes a mystery to us. Are they polite to their teachers? Do they participate in class? Are they bullying other kids? Are they being bullied? There is something you can do to help get them on track to be successful in school and to avoid the bully-trap - even when you're not around: Enroll them in a martial arts class.

One of the biggest misconceptions about enrolling children and teenagers in martial arts is that the kids become aggressive and, therefore, a likely bully. The fact is, however, that martial arts do just the opposite. Bullies often have sense of superiority over others and their environments and lack impulse control. Often time, bullies don't know how to manage their anger so they take it out on people they deem weaker than themselves. Many times, bullies are being, or have been, bullied at some point in their lives as well. Martial arts help solve these problems.

Martial arts can also help kids who are being bullied. Bullies thrive on attacking (physically or emotionally) people that they see as weak. Kids who are bullied often have (generally as a result of the bullying) low confidence levels, inability to concentrate on school work, lack of focus and high stress levels which make them look even weaker. Martial arts help solve these problems too.

The many benefits of martial arts for children are a great way to combat bullying, but as you read on, you'll see that the benefits extend way past bullying and will help your children succeed in other areas of their lives as well:

Concentration and Focus. Training martial arts is not a mindless activity. It requires complete concentration and focus at all times during training. The best part about this needed concentration, however, is that it carries over into all parts of your children's lives. You'll notice (and your children's teachers will probably also notice) that they will be able to focus more on their school work and they might even have more successful grades.

Confidence and Control. Martial arts will help your children get in tune with their minds and bodies. This will help kids better understand themselves, their actions and their options. They know that they don't need to lose their temper to handle stressful situations and they'll also know that they have the ability to physically defend themselves if needed. All of this knowledge will increase their confidence and over all demeanor making them appear (and be) stronger individuals and less likely to be a victim of a bully. It will also help prevent them from bullying others because they will be more aware of themselves and those around them.

Stress Reduction. You probably already know that physical exercise is a great stress reliever for you. Do you also know that it works for your children as well? Any type of exercise such as jogging or playing sports can relieve the physical stress that your children feel from daily life - and it may be more than you'd expect. Training martial arts goes one step further, however. It will also help your children relieve their emotional stress because martial arts require them to concentrate their training, not dwell on their problems.

Respect. If you send your children to the right school, their martial arts instructors will both command and deserve respect from all of their students. They will also be able to instill in your children that all people deserve respect, especially adults.

Recovery From Genital Herpes

Recovery from genital herpes is possible as long as you know the proper way to avoid outbreaks and control the symptoms that are associated with the disease. If you have genital herpes, it is important for you to know that that there currently is no known cure for the disease. But this should not mean though that its the end of the world for you once you have been diagnosed with herpes. Fact is, you can still live a normal life - physically, socially, mentally, emotionally and even sexually. There are many individuals out there who have genital herpes that continue to work, date and socialize with their friends.

The key to recovery from genital herpes is to be able to avoid outbreaks and control the symptoms associated with the disease. The number one trigger of an outbreak is stress. Therefore, to avoid outbreaks you must try to keep yourself as stress-free as possible. There are many ways to do this. You can do Yoga or meditation. Even plain old exercise can do wonders in keeping stress away.

Diet also plays a big role in a person's recovery from genital herpes. In general, people with herpes should avoid food that contains Arginine which can trigger outbreaks. On the other hand, they must increase their intake of foods rich in Lysine which helps in controlling the symptoms of genital herpes.

Recovery from genital herpes - which means recovery from its symptoms and outbreaks - is possible with a little adjustment in your lifestyle and diet.

Preparing for the Holidays With Shopping and Parties

If you've ever been up at 4 a.m. on Christmas Eve with tape stuck to your face, a dwindling supply of wrapping paper, and a "Santa" signature that eerily resembles Mom's handwriting, you might benefit from some early holiday preparation this year. Not speaking from personal experience or anything, but the holidays can often induce sleep-depraved insanity and far too many burnt chocolate chip cookies.

With a month left until Christmas, you've still got time to prepare for the holiday season while juggling the usual responsibilities of work and family. Here's my first hand guide to keeping your sanity this holiday season.

1. Set a Budget (and try to stick to it!)

Probably the hardest thing to do is realize that you might have to leave some things off the Christmas List if you want to be able to pay your bills at the end of the month. Setting a budget ahead of time can help you find gifts early on and avoid last minute spending at the mall. You can always make minor changes to the plan, but you'll be more aware of that extra spending.

2. Make a To Do List full of things you can actually DO!

I used to have a terrible habit of making a mile high To Do List that was impossible to accomplish. Before I would even start my errands, I would be overwhelmed! Make a To Do List that actually reflects what you can probably get done in a day. Combine simple errands with more time consuming projects so that even if you don't get one thing done, you'll have crossed off something else. I try to get 1 or 2 big things a week done; whether it's taking holiday photos or finding a few presents for family or friends.

3. Plan your menu.

I'm not talking about just your Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. If you've never been one to plan your weekly dinner menu, start now for the holidays. You'll save a lot of extra time that you probably would have been spending looking up recipes or heading to the supermarket for a last minute ingredient. Relax during that extra time and get some quality "you" time!

4. Don't stress too much over finding the perfect present

While shopping for kids may be easy, it's often difficult shopping for co-workers, friends and in-laws. There's always one person on my list who I have absolutely no idea what to get them. For me, it's helpful to look at gift guides and get some ideas. If all else fails, a gift certificate from their favorite store and a nice card makes a thoughtful present.

5. Go through your decorations inventory

Thanksgiving weekend is often the time to start unpacking the Christmas decorations. Before you begin decorating, take note of decorations you may need or how many Christmas lights are broken so when you go to the store you'll buy exactly the right amount.

6. Buy lots of wrapping paper.

Unless you plan on adopting an Ebenezer Scrooge policy for the rest of your life, it's probably safe to say you can use any extra wrapping paper next year.

Symptoms to Recognize With Rosacea

Do you not just hate it when you experience chronic and perpetual redness all around your face? Sometimes you even get pimples within the red affected area? You probably have the facial condition called Rosacea.

This often unremitting and irksome condition is distinguished by facial erythema, or the redness of certain parts of the skin. Rosacea is normally a harmless condition, and can easily be treated with certain assigned cosmetic medications for the skin. It begins to pose certain concerns and issues, however, when it affects the eyes. There are a number of rosacea symptoms which you can easily identify in order for you to treat it quickly.

This self-consciousness inflicting condition usually starts off as just redness of the central face, across the nose, forehead, cheeks, but can also start affecting the chest, neck, scalp and ears. In certain cases, your facial blood vessels may dilate and amplify near the skin surface. You can also experience semi-permanent redness, red grainy eyes, red domed papules and pustules, throbbing and burning sensations, and in the most extreme cases, a red bloated nose.

Other symptoms of rosacea include red areas either across or on certain spots on your face. Tiny, red bumps, also known as pustules on your cheeks, nose, chin and forehead may also form. This should not be confused with whiteheads or blackheads.

You could also experience the following symptoms:

Noticeable and perceivable blood vessels on your cheeks and nose. Propensity to redden or flush quite effortlessly. Burning or grainy feeling in your eyes, which poses a great concern if it ever occurs. Rhinophyma or having a large, red, inflamed nose.

There are some secondary features that can be classified into additional rosacea symptoms. Your facial skin may become extremely dry, it may exhibit elevated red patches, it may start to sting, your face may seem puffy, and the skin could severely thicken.

These symptoms could also appear on any other part of the body.

Rosacea can be quite a harmless condition for some, but if aggravated, it can not only turn out to become a serious cosmetic condition for your face, but also a huge self-esteem demolisher. Rosacea symptoms such as the ones mentioned above can be prevented by some of the most common prevention methods out there. The most obvious one is of course to take great care of your face and other parts of your body.

Do not do anything to exacerbate the condition if you do already have it, as it will only inflame the affected areas and make the matter worse. Treating rosacea through the knowledge of rosacea symptoms is also an advised precaution.

Having an extensive familiarity and awareness of rosacea symptoms can save you from having to have rosacea for a long time, and might even aid you from acquiring it in totality.

Why Do Voice Artists Use ISDN?

ISDN stands for Integrated Services Digital Network.

In sound recording (without getting into all the technical stuff) it's a way of connecting two studios together with very little loss of quality. So I could sit in my studio in London and connect with someone in the States who also has an ISDN line. It looks just like a phone line with a fancy box on the end. In the UK, not surprisingly BT is the main supplier.

However, it isn't quite that simple. The sounds going into a microphones in both studios have to be digitized so they can be sent on the ISDN line. This means both studios need a codec

What's a CODEC?

Short for coder-decoder it turns the analogue sound into digital and vice versa. My codec is a Pronto 2 and looks pretty much like an amplifier. I speak into a microphone, which is connected to a small audio mixer to control sound levels. This is connected to the codec, which is connected to the ISDN line. At the other end, the other studio receives the signal into their codec, which is then plugged through to their recording equipment, and they monitor it through headphones or speakers.

There are various other codecs.

Prima springs to mind, and is very popular. A software application called AudioTX has also been developed which means your PC effectively becomes the codec.

So what's the point of ISDN?

Radio stations love it. Instead of having to use the same voices living locally, or those prepared to travel large distances, they can now choose anyone in the world with an ISDN line and the rest of the kit. Voice artists love it because they can stay at home (wherever that is, maybe miles from civilisation) and not even get dressed to go to work!

----------------------------------------- 19 May 2006 "Defined By So Few Words" Neon blue continues on I am neither sad nor happy I guess I find myself relieved Waiting for tears if I need them

I never realized her poems to be so short so inconclusive so undefined she always seemed so magnificently tormented

Ahhh zelda where are you when I need you?

Pointing in the direction of the sky I expected beyond but the treasure was in the trees My eyes gathered them standing beneath and within I bend my branches

Born with a melancholy poets charm that pathway Books and paintings sculptures of flight rounded off with a drunken stupor

My fingers feel numb I approach the station to arrive I have been there and back I am coated with the very same torment said with few words on the pages that you sent to me

-------------------------------------- 20 May 2006 'Neon's Unspoken Tales' She said she knew you I of course took up her time quoting our best/ worst moments yet, only in my head She never really heard our history my memories burn still unspoken

"Be sure to call her everyday", she said

'Every' day? Every single day?

"Just keep it short that's really all that's needed"

How do you fill a bottle too small? How do you comb the hair of an old dolly who's locks are now sparse? How do you find the voices remembered take them back

comfort them instruct them in the art of positive thinking? My moods are not always my own

'Feathers Carved In Stone' I am not sure how it settles... the stone past the surface of the water my words, my appraisal

In a crunch I refer to little boxes sometimes empty decorated with ribbons sometimes filled with feathers carved in stone I fall back on their sentimental comfort of who I wish to be strong, undaunted graceful despite the climate just like all the other ladies I admire

Yet I sit at the bottom of this pond I am not sure if it is mirky or clear If my visions make sense to me at this moment it may just be lie

I must hold the flag of my own destiny fold up notes that overtake my heart But then I think I might miss them I feel afraid that if I stand tall I will find I do not exist Pieces of my flight though they be stone brought me here thus far I would be leaving the little girl with paper dolls alone and still afraid

--------------------------------------- 25 May 2006 "A Promise and a Gift" He fled from the mountains arrived at the sea leaving

all his gifts behind him including me

White knights and sacred shells reach out past sad beyond the sand a token within this map>br>

You came...so I left You didn't notice pretending I never really cared

-------------------------------------- 14 july 2006 "I Stroke Her Hair" I stroke her hair I mend her

again despite her wild objections

Defined by lines that did not match she held herself closely

Did not entertain streaks of light river crossings paths that led to lime green

I walk past her sigh and find it to be my own Buckle down you stupid girl! Consequences of moons that go unlocked bring hues that grey up possibility

I shook her I made her bleed who did she think I was?

Her eyes looked up She asked for mercy the kind that only I could give her

Many a tormented heart is born out of passion I stroked her hair I gave her the box unopened with all the gifts inside because I was the only one who could and the only one there

Solar Energy Facts

This article will address some of the most intriguing solar energy facts. Solar energy is generally one of the most ecologically sound and desirable sources of power these days. Let's get going with the obvious. Solar power has been in existence since the dawn of time. It has been used by microbial, plant, and animal life as a primary energy supply. Plants, using photosynthesis, create nearly all of the food on the earth and are at the base of the food chain. Furthermore the fossil fuels we rely on so heavily nowadays are created from plants and animals that lived a long time ago. Only in recent times have human beings been able to capture solar energy so that it may be utilized any time of day and night, and in any weather, stored and transferred.

Annually, the earth's atmosphere absorbs 3.85 million exajoules of energy from our sun. This most likely doesn't mean much to you, however by comparison, the entire use of electric energy by all people today around the world is just 56.7 exajoules per year. This indicates that within a few hours, the earth receives more energy from the sun than people expend during an entire year! Solar energy is a remarkably clean supply of energy simply because, in contrast to fossil fuels, making use of this kind of energy doesn't discharge carbon dioxide or other types of harmful toxins into the environment. Furthermore solar energy is collected by almost every single form of life. You've almost certainly never seen a reptile collect wood to start a fire, but you most likely have seen one lying on a rock to absorb solar energy. Solar power is probably the most environmentally sound energy option attainable right now.

Perhaps you may be wondering what exactly solar power is capable of doing for our environment. Every year, humans consume 467 exajoules of energy by utilizing several principal power sources: burning coal, gasoline, and oil, along with 'green' sources like wind, solar, and hydro energy. However, if we could capture just 10% of the sun's energy, we would have the capacity to replace all of the fossil fuel sources and have enough space for growth. Without any doubt solar energy facts like this make it clear how much better solar power is for the environment and how great the potential is for solar energy development.

Considering that you've seen some of the most remarkable solar energy facts and now have an understanding regarding what solar energy can possibly do for the environment, you'd probably want to know just exactly what solar energy is. To put it simply, solar energy is the heat and light energy emitted from the sun. The sun constantly generates vast quantities of energy into our solar system. Approximately 30% of the sun's energy that reaches the earth is immediately deflected by the atmosphere, and another 20% is absorbed into the atmosphere. However, around 50% of the energy actually reaches the earth's surface, where it fuels photosynthesis in plants, maintains both hot tropical and warm temperate climates, maintains the temperature of the ocean, and generally speaking keeps our planet alive. All of this is accomplished without creating any pollution or destruction of natural resources.

A lot of people don't understand how solar energy functions on the technical level, and so they wonder just what solar energy is going to provide to their homes, businesses, and communities. In the last three decades, solar energy technology has developed at an accelerated rate. Solar energy is gathered at a number of large power plants in the U.S., Spain, Australia, and in other nations, where it delivers power directly to the power grid. This implies that countless houses around the globe already get electrical power generated by the sun. One of several lesser known solar energy facts is that solar power can also be employed on a considerably smaller scale. Solar panels on households and businesses, can certainly create a percentage (or possibly all) of the power these buildings have to have. On an even smaller scale, solar panel systems are put to use in India and Indonesia to disinfect water, and compact solar burners and ovens are often employed in order to cook food in other regions of the globe. Solar energy might be employed to power practically any procedure you can visualize, from large-scale power generation for towns and cities to boiling a single pot of water.

What makes all of these different uses achievable is the development of solar energy systems. You will notice two standard varieties of solar energy technologies presently used today: solar thermal energy (STE) and photovoltaic (PV) energy. Solar thermal collectors just harness the heat or thermal energy generated by the sun. This thermal energy is generally used to heat water which in turn can easily be stored and used for common every day requirements or piped to a household heating system. STE may be stored by heating up or energizing a thermal mass that is designed to continue to radiate heat even when the sun isn't shining. Solar thermal collectors actually are significantly more efficient in comparison with photovoltaic collectors but on the other hand energy storage is somewhat more cumbersome. Photovoltaic solar panel systems produce electricity when exposed to sunlight. This electric current may be used immediately or alternatively stored by using batteries for later use. This is actually one of the more significant solar energy facts whenever you are dealing with PV energy systems. Battery storage is incredibly significant since it means it is possible to store solar power for use through the night or during cloudy or rainy days.

Solar energy is a very important alternative power source which can help us take care of our environment. It can also help to cut down our reliance on fossil fuels. You may be asking yourself just how big of an expense it is going to be for you to convert to solar power? Solar power is not really as costly as most people think. A total solar energy system for a house can potentially cost more than $30,000, having said that this does not really mean you will be paying that total amount. To begin with, you will discover lots of different incentive plans, which include tax credits, rebates and grants, that may reduce the price of installing solar panel systems by 30% or more. One other option you might wish to look into is a smaller solar energy system that just supplements your household power needs. A smaller sized system will cost considerably less, while still lowering your current energy bills, and it will certainly help make your home much more environmentally sound. Currently most electrical power is generated using fossil fuels. So lowering your use of electrical power from the area power company by 50% is actually an important step towards establishing a sustainable power grid.

In this article, we've made an effort to supply you with a number of helpful and thought provoking solar energy facts. While you contemplate these facts, also think about just how much value you put on the quality of the environment and on humanity's ability to preserve it. No matter if fossil fuels do not run out during the next 50 years, it's very likely that their continued use as our primary energy source is going to wreak environmental havoc. Investing in solar power now might not instantly help you save money, but your monetary investment can certainly provide an improved future for everybody under the sun.
